Three-vehicle accident in Gilbert leads to 2 serious injuries
Truck drivers have some of the toughest jobs. They deal with long hours, traffic jams and the occasional irate driver. When someone spends their career on the road, they could be involved in an accident caused by another driver’s irresponsible conduct. Truck driving accidents can lead to long-term injuries for people who are on the job. This can be especially troublesome for Phoenix drivers as they deal with high medical costs and a lost income.
In Gilbert, a three-vehicle crash led to a couple people being sent to the hospital. The three vehicles included a car, a pickup truck and a dump truck. Firefighters were able to extract two people from their vehicles and they were carried to a local hospital by helicopters. The accident happened near the Higley And Queen Creek road intersection. Three others were taken to the hospital with less-serious injuries.
An accident on the job is something that no one wants to experience. Fortunately, victims can be compensated for time away from work, any medical bills that are incurred and other financial burdens. It’s important to seek medical treatment right away and to report the accident to an employer. It’s also important to be cognizant of any employer negligence, including forced long hours or poor vehicle maintenance. If these factors are present victims may be able to receive additional compensation.
Being hurt in a truck accident is a very difficult thing for employees. Depending on the injuries, victims could be in the hospital for a long time and face a long road to recovery. Workers’ compensation can help an employee to recover some of the high costs of medical attention and other costs that add up. Being familiar with Arizona’s laws can help victims find the proper recourse for injuries.
